So we did bite the bullet and upgraded from the Roomba 675 to this the Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni – And in short its been an Fantastic Cleaning Companion!

It has definitely taken the hassle out of cleaning, and giving us more time to enjoy the things we love to do. 

Now With its advanced technology and sleek design, this intelligent cleaning device does come with 

  • **Smart Navigation**: It navigates your home effortlessly with its intelligent mapping, obstacle detection and Auto-mop lifting. 
  • **Multiple Cleaning Modes**: You can Choose from a variety of cleaning modes to suit your needs. This device has you literally covered.
  • **All-In-One Station**: Say goodbye to manually emptying the dustbin or even mopping the floor by yourself. This device features a self-emptying base that automatically empties the robot’s dustbin into a larger container, plus allows the device to do Hot-water Mop washing. Basically – no need for frequent disassembling and manual washing.  
  • Then theres the **Voice Assistant Integration**: Now this device is compatible with popular voice assistants like Amazon, Google and it has its own called Yiko. And in this video I will show you how to make it work with Siri as well. 

Last but the least – this product is totally a wife pleaser and I did definitely win the Husband of the Year Award !

Now Just for disclosure sake – This product is not yet available in Brasil and I purchased it with my own money when we were on a Summer Holiday To Dubai. 

Also you want to take note firstly on the All In One Station size – its big, needs a sizable place to install as well as have space for the vacuum to move in and out based on the cleaning mode you have chosen. 

Secondly for some reason in certain intervals – this device goes into a sleep mode that you need to press the network button to re-sync with your wifi network 

and Thirdly depending if you need it or not – You can disable Yiko the assistant by Tapping on the “Enter Smart Cleaning” 

Then tap on the gear icon which is located on the top right hand corner

Tap on YIKO Voice Assistant and disable the service. But I am still not sure if the device is still listening to all our conversations 

Now with so much technology this device comes with, It does not have a direct HomeKit integration, and that’s where Homebridge comes to the rescue. 

And by leveraging a specific Homebridge plugin, we’re able to make our vacuum a first-class citizen in our HomeKit world.

And If you’re new to Homebridge – it’s an awesome tool that bridges the gap between non-HomeKit devices and your Apple Home ecosystem. For example – like our trusty Deebot T20 Omni. 

So, For all of this to work. This is what we will need – 

  1. Make sure you have your Deebot T20 Omni or any other Deebot Model connected to your network and is up n running.
  2. And to enable the integration with Homekit – we will be using Homebridge running on a Synologay NAS, plus I also have left links in the description to install homebridge on multiple hardware platforms
